Generally most tongue and groove floorboards will be in poor condition where other trades in the past have cut them for access to electrical or plumbing issues. If the boards are clean and well fixed Ardex NA can go over the boards as a pre levelling compound prior to overlay with a flooring grade ply. If the existing timber has undulations these can be pre filled with Ardex NA. to ensure surface flatness before being overlaid. The codes dictate that any wooden backgrounds should now be flooring grade ply or class 3.
